Albacete




Spain, also known as Kingdom of Spain, is one of the oldest inhabited regions on the planet. It is a country which is located in Southern Europe, and politically organized as a parliamentary monarchy. It is the largest sovereign nation of the three nations that make up the Iberian Peninsula. Administratively, Spain is divided into 50 provinces, grouped into 17 autonomous communities and 2 autonomous cities with a high degree of autonomy. The name Spain comes from the Latin name Hispania whose capital is Madrid which is also the largest city of the Country.
 
Albacete its origins is derived from Arabic Al Basit. It is a city and municipality in southeastern Spain, 173 miles southeast of Madrid, the capital of the province of Albacete in the autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha. Spain, officially the Kingdom of Spain is a country located in Southern Europe, politically organized as a parliamentary monarchy. The municipality had a population of 152,115 in 2002. The settlement was named Al-Basit, the plain, by the Arabs. The city has been known as a center for the manufacture of fine daggers, scissors, and knives.
 
Albacete is not known as a tourist destination, but its sights include the new cathedral and the Museo de Albacete. During the Spanish Civil War, it was the headquarters and training camp of the International Brigades. The city is a popular day or weekend trip of about 173 miles southeast of Madrid, to which it is connected by rail and by highway, and is home to the football team Albacete Balompie.
