Malaga




Spain, also known as Kingdom of Spain, is one of the oldest inhabited regions on the planet. It is a country which is located in Southern Europe, and politically organized as a parliamentary monarchy. It is the largest sovereign nation of the three nations that make up the Iberian Peninsula. Administratively, Spain is divided into 50 provinces, grouped into 17 autonomous communities and 2 autonomous cities with a high degree of autonomy. The name Spain comes from the Latin name Hispania whose capital is Madrid which is also the largest city of the Country.
 
Malaga is a port city in Andalusia, southern Spain, on the Costa del Sol coast of the Mediterranean. According the 2006 census the population of the city is 558,287. Malaga is surrounded by mountains, lying in the southern base of the Axarquia hills and two rivers, the Guadalmedina and the Guadalhorce, flow near the city into the Mediterranean. The climate of the city is mild and equable, the mean annual temperature being about 19° Celsius. The inner city of Malaga is just behind the harbor. The city has much revenue from the agricultural sector and from tourism.
 
The city is a popular tourist destination, due mainly to its proximity to the Costa del Sol. There are very cheap flights to Malaga from countries in Northern Europe, particularly the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands and Germany. From Malaga, other cities of Andalucia like Sevilla, Cordoba, Granada, and Jaen can be reached by train, bus or car. The city is served by the Malaga Airport. The main rail station is Malaga-Renfe which is connected with Madrid Atocha by Talgo 200. The city has two Cercanias lines and a metro system is under construction.
 
Malaga is also known as the town of best geographical environment and has traced its origins back to prehistoric times. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and can also enjoy its natural beauty concealed by the beautiful landscapes.
