Marratxi




Spain, also known as Kingdom of Spain, is one of the oldest inhabited regions on the planet. It is a country which is located in Southern Europe, and politically organized as a parliamentary monarchy. It is the largest sovereign nation of the three nations that make up the Iberian Peninsula. Administratively, Spain is divided into 50 provinces, grouped into 17 autonomous communities and 2 autonomous cities with a high degree of autonomy. The name Spain comes from the Latin name Hispania whose capital is Madrid which is also the largest city of the Country
 
Marratxi is a municipality in the Raiguer region of Mallorca, one of the Balearic Islands which are located in the Mediterranean Sea. It has a population of 28,237 within an area of 54 square kilometers, as of 2005. The principal towns are Pont d'Inca with a population of 16,518, Pla de na Tesa with a population of 3,304, Portol with a population of 2,640 and Sa Cabaneta with a population of 5,748, which is where the district council buildings are located.
 
The population has increased rapidly since the mid 1990s due to the proliferation of new urbanizations around these villages. These developments have good road and to a lesser extent rail, links to Palma. The first civil airfield on Mallorca was Aerodromo de Son Bonet, which is located between Pont d’Inca and Pla de Na Tesa. The local economy is dominated by agriculture however significant employment is provided by traditional pottery manufacture and the large shopping complex at Pont d’Inca.
 
Marratxi enjoys a very good reputation amongst worldwide travelers and hence is one of the most visited places in Spain. It is also said the place of best geographical environment and can trace its origin back to prehistoric times.
