Medina del Campo
Spain, also known as Kingdom of Spain, is one of the oldest inhabited regions on the planet. It is a country which is located in Southern Europe, and politically organized as a parliamentary monarchy. It is the largest sovereign nation of the three nations that make up the Iberian Peninsula. Administratively, Spain is divided into 50 provinces, grouped into 17 autonomous communities and 2 autonomous cities with a high degree of autonomy. The name Spain comes from the Latin name Hispania whose capital is Madrid which is also the largest city of the Country. Medina del Campo is one of the pre-eminent, historical and potential tourism destinations located in the middle of the Spanish Meseta Central, in Castile-Leon autonomous region. It has some urban features including an important railroad station, an industrial estate and very busy major roads, but it also retains a clearly rural character, since it is the capital of a farming area and it is far away from the great economic centers. Medina offers a large variety of cultural activities to its citizens and visitors, some of them very interesting. Its Holy Week has been officially declared a Tourist Attraction, because of the artistic value of his religious images and the documented antiquity of its processions. Some of the most important events for the inhabitants of Medina are the Local Festivities in honor of the so-called Saint Antoninus of Pamiers. The celebrations revolve around the religious ceremonies and above all, around the bullfighting. Medina is one of Spain's most popular destinations and is well known for the quantity of cultural related attractions and monuments that the city has embraced. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and pursue enthusiasm in its natural beauty and populace.
