Miranda de Ebro
Spain, also known as Kingdom of Spain, is one of the oldest inhabited regions on the planet. It is a country which is located in Southern Europe, and politically organized as a parliamentary monarchy. It is the largest sovereign nation of the three nations that make up the Iberian Peninsula. Administratively, Spain is divided into 50 provinces, grouped into 17 autonomous communities and 2 autonomous cities with a high degree of autonomy. The name Spain comes from the Latin name Hispania whose capital is Madrid which is also the largest city of the Country. Miranda de Ebro is an industrial city in the north-east of the province of Burgos in Spain on the border with the province of Alava and the autonomous community of La Rioja. According to a 2005 census conducted by Spain's National Institute of Statistics, it has a population of 37,664 inhabitants. The city is crossed by the river Ebro, which, divides the city in two parts. The city is important transportation hubs, especially as a railroad juncture, as there are numerous cities in the surrounding 80 kilometeres, including Burgos, Vitoria, Logrono and Bilbao. The Ebro is Spain's most voluminous and second longest river. It starts at Fontibre in the province of Cantabria and passes Miranda de Ebro, Logrono, Zaragoza, Flix, Tortosa, and Amposta before ending in a delta on the Mediterranean Sea in the province of Tarragona.
Miranda de Ebro can also be described as the best geographical environment and can trace its origins back to prehistoric times. This is evident from the archaeological sites found throughout Miranda de Ebro.
