El Ejido
Spain, also known as Kingdom of Spain, is one of the oldest inhabited regions on the planet. It is a country which is located in Southern Europe, and politically organized as a parliamentary monarchy. It is the largest sovereign nation of the three nations that make up the Iberian Peninsula. Administratively, Spain is divided into 50 provinces, grouped into 17 autonomous communities and 2 autonomous cities with a high degree of autonomy. The name Spain comes from the Latin name Hispania whose capital is Madrid which is also the largest city of the Country. El Ejido is a municipality of Almeria province, a province of southern Spain, in the eastern part of the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain. It is bordered by the provinces of Granada, Murcia, and the Mediterranean Sea. It is a centre of production for fruit and vegetables. Its capital is Almeria. Andalusia or Andalucia is the most populated and second largest of the seventeen autonomous communities that constitute Spain. Its capital is Seville. El Ejido’s administration, as it is a municipality, is overseen by a Mayor. With a population of 68,828, as of 2005, within an area of 227 square kilometers or 87.6 square miles it has a population density of 303.2 persons per square kilometer or 785.3 persons per square mile. It is located at an altitude of 80 meters above sea level.
El Ejido enjoys a very good reputation amongst worldwide travelers and hence is one of the most visited places in Spain. A city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages, El Ejido is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
