Sant Cugat del Valles
Spain, also known as Kingdom of Spain, is one of the oldest inhabited regions on the planet. It is a country which is located in Southern Europe, and politically organized as a parliamentary monarchy. It is the largest sovereign nation of the three nations that make up the Iberian Peninsula. Administratively, Spain is divided into 50 provinces, grouped into 17 autonomous communities and 2 autonomous cities with a high degree of autonomy. The name Spain comes from the Latin name Hispania whose capital is Madrid which is also the largest city of the Country. Sant Cugat del Valles is a town and municipality west of Barcelona in Catalonia which borders on Valencia to the south, Aragon to the west, France and Andorra to the north, and the Mediterranean Sea to the east and southeast, Spain. The town has grown a lot in the last few years due to a baby boom. As of 2000 it had a population of 52,654, in fact, it had more births than bigger cities like Barcelona in 2004. The most important monument in the city is its medieval monastery. The town has other relevant buildings, such as the UPC, Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, architectural faculty and the CAR, Centre d'Alt Rendiment or High Performance Centre, a famous centre for professional sport training. Sant Cugat del Valles enjoys a very good reputation amongst worldwide travelers and hence is one of the most visited places in Spain.
