Spain, also known as Kingdom of Spain, is one of the oldest inhabited regions on the planet. Administratively, Spain is divided into 50 provinces, grouped into 17 autonomous communities and 2 autonomous cities with a high degree of autonomy. The name Spain comes from the Latin name Hispania whose capital is Madrid which is also the largest city of the Country.
 
Sant Joan Despi is a city located in the Baix Llobregat area of Barcelona province in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on the left bank of the Llobregat River. Currently, Sant Joan Despi has 31, 438 inhabitants divided into 4 different districts. Sant Joan Despi borders are in order to length like as Cornella de Llobregat, Sant Just Desvern, Sant Boi de Llobregat, and Esplugues de Llobregat.
 
Sant Joan Despi is currently a mid-density commercial and residential district. It includes an industrial area called Fontsanta. In the 2000 it expanded towards the River Llobregat in a new mid-residential area creating the avenue Rambla de Josep Maria Jujol. In this area there are Sant Joan Despi's sightseeings, like Can Negre and Torre de la Creu. Torreblanca is also known as Pla del Vent, its major street. It was created during 1980s and the 1990s. It is a low density residential district with a notable number of Center European immigrants. It is a 1980s mid-density district with Sant Joan Despí's biggest green area, the Parc de la Fontsanta, which also is the junction with Les Planes.

Sant Joan Despi is also said to be one of the best geographical environment and can trace its origins back to prehistoric times. This is evident from the archaeological sites found throughout the Sant Joan Despi town.
