Spain, also known as Kingdom of Spain, is one of the oldest inhabited regions on the planet. It is a country which is located in Southern Europe, and politically organized as a parliamentary monarchy. It is the largest sovereign nation of the three nations that make up the Iberian Peninsula. Administratively, Spain is divided into 50 provinces, grouped into 17 autonomous communities and 2 autonomous cities with a high degree of autonomy. The name Spain comes from the Latin name Hispania whose capital is Madrid which is also the largest city of the Country.
 
L'Hospitalet de Llobregat or L'Hospitalet is a city contiguous to the west of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, and the second in Catalonia by population. L'Hospitalet de Llobregat is notable for being the biggest suburb not only in Spain but also in the European Union.
 
The current population of the city is 261,310 according to the census estimated in 2006. The city had a net gain of population of 6,000 people in 2003. Over 22 percent of the city's residential population is born outside of Spain. However the city has a large number of permanent or non-permanent residents from other countries of the European Union.
 
El Centre is the historical center of the city, the oldest neighborhood, where the City Council is, as well as the center of activities La Farga and many of the cultural equipments, such as the Museum of History, the library Can Sumarro, the cultural center Barradas or the Sala Alexandre Cirici. It borders the district of Sanfeliu and Can Serra to the north, of Bellvitge to the south, of Sant Josep to the east, and the city of Cornella de Llobregat to the west.
 
L'Hospitalet de Llobregat is also known as the town of best geographical environment and has traced its origins back to prehistoric times. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and can also enjoy its natural beauty concealed by the beautiful landscapes.
