Spain, also known as Kingdom of Spain, is one of the oldest inhabited regions on the planet. It is a country which is located in Southern Europe, and politically organized as a parliamentary monarchy. It is the largest sovereign nation of the three nations that make up the Iberian Peninsula. Administratively, Spain is divided into 50 provinces, grouped into 17 autonomous communities and 2 autonomous cities with a high degree of autonomy. The name Spain comes from the Latin name Hispania whose capital is Madrid which is also the largest city of the Country.
 
Santa Cruz de Tenerife is a Spanish city on the island of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands. It had a population of 220,022 inhabitants as on 2003. It is the center of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and a co-capital of the sovereign community of the Canary Islands. The municipality is the northernmost and the easternmost in the island and easternmost in the province. It is a seaport and a subtropical resort, providing with impressive scenery and mild sub-tropical climate to visitors. The port also exports goods of the Canaries like vegetables, tobacco, tomatoes and bananas.
 
In 1990, the population steadily increased over 200,000 inhabitants but fell in the late-1990s and boomed again in 2002 to a record level but the 2004 population saw a decline. The economy of Santa Cruz depends on import and export because of the presence of major political and financial institutions, as well as the important companies. The building sector is also applicable, while industry, apart from the oil reffinery, is a minority.
 
Santa Cruz de Tenerife is one of the most visited countries which enjoys a positive reputation with worldwide travelers It is also said the place of best geographical environment and can trace its origins back to prehistoric times.
