San Fernando de Henares




Spain, officially the Kingdom of Spain, is one of the oldest inhabited regions on the planet. It is a country that is located in Southern Europe, politically organized as a parliamentary monarchy. It is the largest of the three sovereign nations that make up the Iberian Peninsula. Administratively, Spain is divided into 50 provinces, grouped into 17 autonomous communities and 2 autonomous cities with high degree of autonomy. The name Spain comes from the Latin name Hispania whose capital and largest city is Madrid.
 
San Fernando de Henares, a town in the province and self governing community of Madrid in Spain. It has an area of 39.9 square kilometers and a population of 36,244 inhabitants. Its main agricultural goods include olives, cereals, vegetables, cattle and wool and its industries include metalworking, mechanical engineering and graphic arts. In the region of the factory workers' homes, there was an origin of this town. In front of the factory, a great square was opened which was connected with another one named as Plaza de Fernando VI. The complete place is confirmed a historic and artistic monument hence it cannot be changed to protect the houses, which still remains.
 
In 1746, King Philip V purchased the place where San Fernando is situated to start a royal fabric factory. After his death shortly thereafter, the project was developed by Ferdinand VI. He appointed Ventura de Argumosa as the governor of the Royal Place. In its 200 year history, it has troubles at every corner. Its buildings and factories was intended for many uses as a hospice. Presently only the main facade stands which was restored and incorpored in the new city hall.
 
It is also said the place of best geographical environment and can trace its origins back to prehistoric times. San Fernando de Henares enjoys a positive reputation with worldwide travelers, and is one of the most visited place.
