Spain, also known as Kingdom of Spain, is one of the oldest inhabited regions on the planet. Santurtzi is a port town in the province of Biscay, in the independent community of Basque Country in Spain. It is situated close to the mouth of the Nervion River, 14km downriver from Bilbao and is part of the Gran Bilbao agglomeration. It has a population of 47,155 inhabitants as of 2005. The attractiveness of the landscape and the quality of food along with hospitality of the Santurtziarrak are the attractions one can enjoy.
 
Santurtzi is a marine town that is well known for conserving its traditions in spite of its growth. The life in this Council is marked by the sea and it inspires its work and leisure. The fishing and the rowing boat races and the celebrations of the Virgin of the Carmen maintain their roots alive. The climate in Santurtzi is under the pressure of the humid oceanic climate. The temperatures are moderate all through the year, with more rains in spring and autumn. Its winters are benevolent and summers to not excessively warm.
