Segovia
Spain, also known as Kingdom of Spain, is one of the oldest inhabited regions on the planet. It is a country which is located in Southern Europe, and politically organized as a parliamentary monarchy. It is the largest sovereign nation of the three nations that make up the Iberian Peninsula. Administratively, Spain is divided into 50 provinces, grouped into 17 autonomous communities and 2 autonomous cities with a high degree of autonomy. The name Spain comes from the Latin name Hispania whose capital is Madrid which is also the largest city of the Country. Segovia is a city in Spain and a capital of the province Segovia in Castile-Leon. It is situated about an hour north of Madrid, where a population of 55,586 inhabitants resides. It is a town of the Arevaci, which was integrated in the Roman province of Hispania Tarraconensis on the road from Emerita to Caesaraugusta. It minted coins in antiquity, which were later described and cataloged by Enrique Florez. The old city is stunningly situated on top of a long and narrow promontory. It has many monuments including the cathedral, a prominent ancient and Roman aqueduct. It also has the Alcazar and churches built in the Romanesque style like San Esteban, San Martin, and San Millan. The old city is a World Heritage Site that has recently restored its urban transportation services. It provides trips between the districts of the city and a nighttime service. Segovia is a city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages. It is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
