Soria
Spain, also known as Kingdom of Spain, is one of the oldest inhabited regions on the planet. It is a country which is located in Southern Europe, and politically organized as a parliamentary monarchy. It is the largest sovereign nation of the three nations that make up the Iberian Peninsula. Administratively, Spain is divided into 50 provinces, grouped into 17 autonomous communities and 2 autonomous cities with a high degree of autonomy. The name Spain comes from the Latin name Hispania whose capital is Madrid which is also the largest city of the Country. Soria is a city in north-central Spain It is the capital of the province of Soria in the independent community of Castile and Leon. The municipality had a population of 35,112 inhabitants in 2002, which is nearly 40 percent of the population of the province. Situated on the Rio Duero in the east of the autonomous community, Soria is well known for its walls and several architecturally distinctive churches. In Soria is the Museo Numantino, which is devoted to the archeological remains of this site. The city has a professional football club known as Numancia. The prominent churches of the city include the Plateresque Concatedral de San Pedro and its cloister, convent church of Santo Domingo and the architectural remains of San Juan de Duero. A few kilometers north of the town are the ruins of Numantia, a Celtiberian town whose inhabitants ruined it rather than let it fall to Scipio
Soria enjoys a positive reputation with worldwide travelers, and is one of the most visited places. It is also said the place of best geographical environment and can trace its origins back to prehistoric times.
