Totana
Spain, also known as Kingdom of Spain, is one of the oldest inhabited regions on the planet. It is a country which is located in Southern Europe, and politically organized as a parliamentary monarchy. It is the largest sovereign nation of the three nations that make up the Iberian Peninsula. Administratively, Spain is divided into 50 provinces, grouped into 17 autonomous communities and 2 autonomous cities with a high degree of autonomy. The name Spain comes from the Latin name Hispania whose capital is Madrid which is also the largest city of the Country. Totana is a municipality of the Murcia which is the autonomous community province in Spain. The climate is extremely temperate, averaging 18.8 degree celcius and year-round temperature of 17.8 degree celcius. The city reaches an average high of 30 degree celcius during summer and sometimes being as low as 6 degree celcius in January. The average annual rainfall is 321 millimeters with prolonged dry periods, but at times having torrential downpours. It has a population of about 25,000 people. The town of Totana is situated in the south-east of the Iberian Peninsula. Its precise location is in the south-eastern quadrant of the province of Murcia and it covers an area of 287.67 square kilometres. Its boundary is rectangular shaped and inclines to the north-west and the south-east, with a narrow extension towards the centre on the eastern side. It borders on Lorca, Mazarron, Alhama de Murcia, Mula and Aledo. Totana forms part of a region which has a dry Mediterranean climate with an average year-round temperature of 17.8 degree celcius. There are about 100 days a year when the temperature exceeds 30 degree celcius and only about 6 days a year when the temperature falls below 0 degree celcius as well. Totana enjoys a very good reputation amongst worldwide travelers and hence is one of the most visited places in Spain.
