Utrera




Spain, officially the Kingdom of Spain, is one of the oldest inhabited regions on the planet. It is a country that is located in Southern Europe, politically organized as a parliamentary monarchy. It is the largest of the three sovereign nations that make up the Iberian Peninsula. Administratively, Spain is divided into 50 provinces, grou1ped into 17 autonomous communities and 2 autonomous cities with high degree of autonomy. The name Spain comes from the Latin name Hispania whose capital and largest city is Madrid.
                                             
Utrera is a town in Andalucia in south-west Spain and is in the province of Seville. In 2005 it had a population of around 50,000. History of the town dates back to the 13th century, when Alfonso X overran Utrera as part of his conquest of Seville, located 30 kilometers to the northwest. Still archaeological work shows people have lived on the site since pre-Roman times. Today the town's five chapels that date from the 14th to 18th centuries, churches and 14th century castle are popular tourist attractions for visitors to Andalucia.
 
This city has several famous cattle farms in its municipal district. The area is known for numerous festivities, particularly the fair, which is celebrated during the days before and after the day of Utrera's patron saint which is the Virgin of Consolacion and it attracts many people from all over Spain and Andalusia as a whole. It is also known for the mostachon which is a kind of small flattened cake made with sugar and cinnamon.
 
In terms of climate, the monthly distribution of the rain corresponds to the one typical of the Mediterranean climate, that is, the rain season take place in autumn-winter and in the summer it almost does not rain, except for very occasional summer storms. 41 percent of the rain happens on autumn. The average annual temperature is 17.5 degree celcius. The coldest month is January.
 
Utrera enjoys a very good reputation amongst worldwide travelers and hence is one of the most visited places in Spain.
